The Comandante C40 MK4 Nitro Blade is one of the world's best-known and most highly regarded manual coffee grinders. Made in Germany, the C40 is particularly known for its exceptionally uniform grind, precise adjustability, and exceptionally durable construction.
The Nitro Blade® burr is specially designed for specialty coffee. Its geometry produces a uniform particle size and helps bring out the coffee's aromas, sweetness, and clarity as cleanly as possible.
Comandante's click adjustment allows for precise and easily repeatable grind size settings. The C40 is suitable for almost all brewing methods, from fine espresso grind to coarser pour-over, AeroPress, and French press grinds.
The Racing Green model features a deep green, high-temperature cured powder-coated finish and a handle made from natural oak. Timeless design combines with exceptionally high-quality materials and German manufacturing.
C40 MK4 Version Updates
In the MK4 version, the structure and material of the motor housing have been updated. The construction is even more robust, the capacity is larger, and beans are less likely to get stuck in the grinder's mechanism.
Two bean containers with a capacity of approximately 40 grams each are included: a brown glass jar and a lightweight, durable transparent polymer jar that can also be used as a drinking cup.

Nitro Blade® burr
Comandante's Nitro Blade® is the result of years of research and development. The burr is made from high-nitrogen, highly alloyed stainless steel. The burr geometry is designed to produce a uniform grind with as little crank resistance as possible.
A uniform particle distribution helps achieve a clean and clear flavor profile across different brewing methods.
Grind size adjustment
Comandante's click adjustment allows for precise and repeatable grind size settings. Once you find the right setting, it is easy to return to it.
The wide adjustment range is suitable for various brewing methods, from espresso to filter coffee and French press.
Materials and construction
The C40's body, shaft, crank, micro bearings, and burr are made from stainless steel. Comandante does not use aluminum in its products.
The polymer parts use BPA-free, food-safe, high-performance materials. The Racing Green model's finish is a durable, high-temperature cured powder coating.
The crank knob is made from natural oak in Germany. Due to the natural grain of the wood, each handle is slightly unique.
