This high-quality Kenyan coffee (SCA 86.75) comes from the Kimandi Factory in Kirinyaga, operating under the Kabare Farmers’ Cooperative Society. Around 6,000 smallholder farmers cultivate coffee at 1,900–2,000 meters above sea level on the famous red volcanic soils of Mount Kenya.
The coffee consists mainly of SL28 and SL34 varieties (80%), complemented by Ruiru 11 and Batian (20%). The cherries are hand-picked and processed using the traditional washed method: fermented, washed with pure mountain water, and sun-dried on raised beds for 14–21 days. The slow drying process develops a bright and complex aroma.
Flavor profile: a fresh and elegant coffee with notes of kiwi and grapefruit, complemented by refined black tea tones.
